According to the 2011 report of the Stop the War Coalition - “Children of Afghanistan” – Afghanistan is one of the worst places on earth for a child to be born. Children are at extreme risk of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect. The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disables (MoLSAMD) indicated that 4.5 million children were at extreme risk, in 2009. Children’s basic rights to life and development are seriously compromised. According to the Ministry of Education, around 3 million children do not have access to learning and with the country’s current crisis in the country, that number is surely low.
